Kai Hasson https://www.thatdudekai.com/five-star Winner of the Golden Needle Award for Best Short at the Seattle International Film Festival Winner of the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Asian American International Film Festival "Kai Hasson's Five Star takes [a] very modern anxiety and spins it into a wildly entertaining horror-comedy. It begins with all the ingredients of a classic monster movie before taking its audience to some wonderfully unexpected places. By weaving the absurd pressures of the five-star economy into its supernatural thrills, Hasson transforms a familiar monster story into something fresher and surprisingly relatable." - S/W Curator , Serafima Serafimova FULL REVIEW: https://www.shortoftheweek.com/2026/07/13/five-star-kai-hasson/ *CREDITS* STARRING PAUL SUN-HYUNG LEE CO-STARRING TATE HANYOK BRYNN ROUTE DIRECTOR KAI HASSON PRODUCER JACOB MOTZ ELYSE PREISS WRITER BRETT KONNER DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY ALEX JACOBS EDITED & VFX BY ARTURO MORALES STORY BY KAI HASSON & BRETT KONNER PRODUCTION DESIGN BY JENNIFER DUNLAP PRODUCERS BRAD SIMPSON SHERRI Y SHI MUSIC BY MONDO BOYS CASTING DIRECTOR DJINOUS ROWLING COSTUME DESIGNER SHANNON P KELLY CAMERA OPERATOR BRYANT SWANSTROM 1ST ASSISTANT CAMERA ADAM KATZNER AISLYN MURRAY 2ND ASSISTANT CAMERA CAROLINA STEELE SOUND MIXER ANDREW PITTS MEGHAN UNDERWOOD GAFFER ROMAN DUSUMOV RYAN SWAIN KEY GRIP LEO IBANEZ BEST BOY BRITTEN FAY JUAN MIGUEL MUÑOZ BARSSÉ ELECTRIC ALLEN OLSZEWSKI SFX HAIR & MAKEUP CAT CALICO ALLIE MCGILLICUDDY ART DIRECTOR JORDAN MOORE PROP MASTER JOE ALTAMURO ART DEPARTMENT CODY BEARMAN KRISTIN JAY MONTANTE WHYLER NEUBAUER PRODUCTION COORDINATOR ROBERTO MAGALLANES KEY PRODUCTION ASSISTANT JOEL SCHWARTZ PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS ADAM DE LUCIA JULIE FASSNACHT MICHELLE FARHANG JACKY FU MOISES MUNOZ ANNA MARIE OLPIN JOHN NASTEFF MEDIC ROB MORALES ADDITIONAL VISUAL EFFECTS RONALD BEE RHODES UI AND CREDITS DESIGN KRISTIN JAY MONTANTE COLORIST ZACHARY HETLAGE SOUND EDITOR / RE-RECORDING MIXER MATT MILLER SPECIAL THANKS CAITLIN ENRIGHT ZACH BLUME NATE HOUGHTELING ROBYN BUENSUCESO ASHLEY COWNAN KARA DURRETT KAREN JANSEN BRITTANI KAGAN JEB BARNETT CHIZU HAMADA WILLIAM HASSON CSLA CAMERA TECH DEVIL’S GRIP VALENTI LIGHTING Reproduced on this channel with the permission of the filmmakers.
