Flirtologist follows fourteen-year-old Reese Patterson, a girl desperate to escape the suffocating tensions of her family and the confusion of adolescence. Trapped on a miserable camping trip with her domineering father and contemptuous older brother, Reese fixates on Isaac — an older boy at a neighboring campsite — as her imagined path toward rebellion and freedom. As Reese tentatively explores her budding sexuality, each attempt at connection is thwarted or dismissed. When Isaac abruptly leaves, Reese retreats further into fantasy, isolating herself from her oblivious family. In her most vulnerable moment, strangers exploit her longing, turning curiosity into danger and exposing how easily desire can be weaponized against young girls. Reese is torn between rebellion and resignation, longing and disgust, grasping for independence in a world that repeatedly denies her safety. This film draws from lived observations: many girls endure defining sexual trauma between the ages of 12 and 14, met not with justice or healing, but silence. Flirtologist offers no easy catharsis — only an unsparing portrait of vulnerability, loss, and the lingering weight of violence. #FilmShortage #DramaShortFilm #ComingOfAge FILM SHORTAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA Instagram: https://instagram.com/filmshortage Twitter: https://twitter.com/filmshortage Facebook: https://facebook.com/filmshortage Website: https://filmshortage.com Film Shortage is home to the next generation of filmmakers, premiering some of the best and diverse short films online
