Synopsis
Janjan, her köyde mutlaka bulunan cinsten delilerden biridir. Murtaza adlı yaşlı bir adamın yanında yaşamaktadır ve kimseye zararı olmayan bir garibandır. Bir gün Murtaza, başlık parasını ödeyerek ’satın aldığı’ ismi gibi güzel olan Güzel’i eve karısı olarak getirir. Kasaba halkının ihtiyar Murtaza ile taze Güzel’in bu tuhaf birlikteliğini yadırgayıp alaya alması, Murtaza’nın kıskançlık krizlerine girmesine neden olur ve Güzel’in evden dışarı çıkmasını yasaklar. Bu durum, ikisi de farklı şekillerde toplumun dışına itilmiş Janjan ve Güzel’in birbirlerine yakınlaşarak aşık olmalarına neden olur. Bir süre sonra hamile kalan Güzel’in çocuğunun Murtaza’dan değil de Janjan’dan olduğunu bütün kasaba konuşmaktadır. Janjan’ın evden kovulmasına ve Güzel’in de namusunun temizlenmesi için ailesine teslim edilmesine kadar varan olaylar, iki gencin hayatlarının büyük bir trajediye dönüşmesine neden olacaktır.
